Hi readers! I’m back with Tsurezure Children’s relationship analysis (as promised). If you’re a sincere reader of this manga, you’re probably well aware that there’re so many characters. When I was reading it, I could barely wrap my head around them (LOL). Suppose you’ve watched the anime already, you’re better off reading the manga than someone who’s never heard of Tsurezure Children. That’s because everything in the manga is black-and-white! It’s extremely difficult to differentiate their hair colors. In other words perhaps, who are they even?! That’s why I recommend you to watch the anime first, but in case you don’t want to, hop in and I’ll break it down for you!
A little recap of the story…

Tsurezure Children
Alternative: 徒然チルドレン | Tsuredure Children
Author / Artist: Wakabayashi Toshiya
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Slice-of-Life, School Life, Shounen
Release Date: December 2012
Status: Completed
Tsurezure Children “shows us a series of 4-koma manga depicting various scenarios of young love.” This manga ranges from high school students to teachers, every kind you can expect is drawn here. The story starts with Kanda, who’s invited Takase (the boy she likes) to confess. However, she’s too embarrassed to say it if Takase doesn’t like her... On the other hand, we have Minagawa, a class representation who likes Furuya. Although she’s confessed many times, the boy thinks she doesn’t take it seriously. And there we have another hilarious and cute love story between the class representation and a normal student. And this manga offers the reversed version too! Instead of the class rep., this character has advanced to the student council president! He’s trying to make a delinquent, Ryouko, to fall in love with him. If I have to cover every single story, it would take me ages!
Yuki Minagawa + Jun Furuya (anime)

Yuki is a slightly fair-skinned girl with long pinkish-red hair that she usually has in straight bangs, green eyes, a charming face, and her appearance resembles a sleepy person. She’s the female class rep. of class 2-1.

Jun, who is also the class rep. of class 2-1, is a slim boy with dark-green hair and reddish-brown eyes.
*being teased by Yuki (LOL)*
Yuki is always grinning, bringing a positive atmosphere wherever she goes. She’s very popular with boys and has lots of friends. Perhaps her most notable trait of all is joking around with others, typically teasing her boyfriend and his sister. However, she is quite brave when it comes to romance (having stolen Jun’s first kiss and repeatedly confessed her love). Yuki always takes the initiative of grabbing Jun and touching him (this is somewhat similar to Namaikizakari), or you could say that she is the leader of this relationship. Although Jun thinks she’s just messing around like how she’s always been, it took him several months to realize his feelings and to give a proper response to her confessions. (He wanted to focus on his studies initially but found that he couldn’t stop thinking of Yuki, and he eventually gave in~) Jun takes everything seriously and often gets embarrassed when she teases him. But! What surprised me was that he took the initiative to kiss Yuki after going out! I honestly didn’t expect that, but I loved how he’s all flushed after their official first kiss.
Jun’s younger sister, Hotaru, is against their relationship and dislikes Yuki. However, Yuki’s caring and straightforward personality made its way to her heart and eventually brought her to recognize their relationship.
*This couple is one of my favorites (although each and everyone is my favorite, I can’t choose!). They are quite hilarious to read and they are the couple that has their positions switched: Yuki as the gentleman and Jun as the lady.
Hotaru Furuya + Akatsuki (anime)

Hotaru is Jun’s little sister and she’s in class 1-3. Hotaru is a small girl with mid-back length indigo hair that she prefers to wear in two low braided ponytails, with bangs hanging over her forehead and light-purple eyes. She’s sweet and kind but gets quite aggressive when girls flirt with her brother, such as Minagawa.

Akatsuki is in class 1-3 also, and he likes Hotaru the way Minagawa likes Jun. Random confessions popping out everywhere makes Hotaru thinks that he’s not serious (like how her brother thought). There’s not a solid ending yet, but I assume that they’ll end up together!

*Rember to read from left to right! This is literary the best part of the last chapter...I miss it T_T
Alice Himemiya + Akimasa Noro

Alice is in class 2-7 and a member of the cooking club. Alice has pink hair that is tied in two long pigtails tied with ribbons and light-colored or dark-colored eyes.

Akimasa is in class 2-1 and a member of the volleyball club. Akimasa is a boy of average height with spiky cheek-length orange hair, small dark-brown eyes. His eyebrows are always slanted and he is always seen smiling or grinning.
Alice is believed to have a mischievous personality due to her being bullied back in middle school. Haruhiko Takase was the one who comforted her, which then made Alice like him. She and Saki are rivals regarding the person of their interests. However, Alice is rejected on Christmas when she confessed her love to Takase. Akimasa then took an interest in Alice after her rejection. Although Akimasa is a playboy that always hangs around girls, he’s serious when it comes to his crush. Having an annoying person that follows her everywhere is quite irritating, but she somewhat enjoys it deep inside. I suppose they’ll be a couple somewhere near the future, and they’ll be the combination of calm and funky.
Saki Kanda + Haruhiko Takase (anime)

Saki is in class 2-1 and a member of the soft tennis club. She has brown hair in a mushroom cut and crystal blue eyes. Saki’s always cheerful and fun, but she gets very nervous and shy around Takase.

Takase is in 2-1 and a member of the soft tennis club. He has spikey hair with dark blue eyes. He never realizes how much he stutters around Saki and how red he gets.
At first, when Saki called Takase out, she stuttered so much that she couldn’t utter her confession after many times of trying it. Instead, they exchanged contact information and texted every night. When Saki told Takase that she likes him, Takase said that he thought it’s insincere to confess online. However, she’d already sent the message before Takase blurted out. Now, they’ve made a huge misunderstanding that was carried on for a quatre of story. It’s not until chapter 212 that they’d gathered the courage to tell their heart. Although it took a long time before their love came true, both of them knew that they like each other.
